My History

By RayePhoenix, 2007-07-25

I began singing when I was about 17 years old in a Christian coffee shop in the early 80's. From there, I started singing with a few guys with whom I still am still in contact. These guys create much of the music with me that you hear in the songs on this website and we're still pretty tight. On the song Horizons in my playlist, Jacob Clyde is performing lead vocals, Ben Vane and I are suporting with background vocals with Jacob and Ben on guitars and Mike Stout on bass guitar.

I went on to sing with a Christian group called Paraphrase directed by my Dad in the mid 80's and 90's. We toured as a group over much of the state of Michigan year 'round. My sister and her  husband also sang in the group. Since then I've been singing in many churches and in karaoke bars in whichever state I've visited, including Colorado, Michigan and now Florida. I've been in a number of contests and have taken 1st place in a quite a few of them. I've even had the pleasure of auditioning for the television show Nashville Star. I am happily married and have 8 wonderful kids.(yes, 8!) My family has been a great inspiration to me, especially my children.  I hope to be able to find a Country or Christian Band that is looking for a lead singer and/or join the group.  I really hope you enjoy my music posted here and please spread the word to anyone who is looking for a vocalist. My vocal style has been compared to Lonestar, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and other current popular vocalists. Thanks for stoppin' by and have a great day.
