The 1010LT works great. THe 1010 is a rack version of the 1010LT; which uses a PCI slot. Billy Sheehan, of the Steve Vai band and Mr Big, uses the 1010. Only drawback to the 1010LT is that it only has 2 XLR inputs. So you have to use an external mixer to record a band . IF you don't want to do that, then buy a Presonus Firepod i.e.
We have used our 1010LT for 2 years and it far exceeds what we expected; especially for $200 at Musician's Friend and Zzounds. ANd as of now, M-Audio does NOT have drivers for VISTA . But hey, VISTA sucks. hehe

Thanks for green light on the M-Audio 1010LT. We were scoping it out, but wanted a recommendation from someone who has used it under "Battle" conditions. Incidentally, your guitar solo on the tune you posted here "Shredder's Delight" is killer! WOWWWW!

We use Sequoia and Samplitude for our DAW. Pro Tools is kinda weak software compared to those 2. We also use all the WAVES bundled plugins. If you can afford it just buy WAVES Mercury. It has all the plugins in one bundle, but costs $9000 . Pro Tools hardware is good and so is Presonus and M-Audio's 1010 and 1010LT . The 1010LT only costs $200 and you can use 3 in sync for 24 Tracks at a time. I have used computers since 1990, and did digital video on Amiga computers first in 1991. Been on the internet since 1996, and our band The LIGHT has been together with the same members since 1987.
